Queen is finally laid to rest at Mount Uhud
“Truly to Allah we
Belong, and Truly to Him we shall Return”
(Quran: Chapter 1, Verse 156)

After suffering prolonged Saudi official
bureaucracy, and in the midst of opportunistic efforts by Gaddafi’s
son Seif to exploit this sad occasion, the body of Queen Fatima El-Sennusi
was finally laid to rest this afternoon (following Janaza prayers in the Prophet’s
holy mosque) in the Hamza Cemetery near Mount Uhud in
Madina, Saudi Arabia.
We pray for God’s mercy to rain down upon her
soul. We recall and salute her unwavering and dignified stance against
the usurpant September regime over the past four decades. We also pay
tribute to her unyielding resolve in refusing this regime’s
inducements and pressures. In the face of a fraction of which, many
strong men, tribal chieftains and even heads of governments have
faltered.
We are grateful and thankful to God almighty for
guiding and helping us to gain the honour of serving Her Majesty,
keeping her company and to carryout our duties towards her fully
throughout the past 28 years, (since we renewed allegiance to her late
husband His Majesty King Idris, Libya’s legitimate ruler and true
father of the nation), up to the moment her soul returned to its
creator at a Cairo hospital on Saturday 3 October 2009.
